About the Firm
Laura Soll is a public relations and event management specialist with more than 25 years of experience in Southern New England. She has managed her own firm for 14 years and is the recipient of three First Place Gold Mercury Awards years from the Public Relations Society of America's Connecticut Valley chapter. She was honored for publicity of the Connecticut Veterans Day Parade, for publicity of the National Paralysis Association's "Rise to the Occasion" fundraiser with the late actor/director Christopher Reeve, and for creation/promotion of the Bloomfield Drum & Music Festival, a multicultural regional event.
She has been a Planning Committee member for all of the University of Connecticut (UConn) Basketball NCAA Championship Victory Parades/Rallies in Hartford, and manages the events' public relations efforts.
Ms. Soll has worked as Director of Press & Publicity and Community Relations for WFSB Channel 3 (CBS affiliate for Hartford/New Haven), Vice President of Andrea Obston Marketing Communications, Director of Public Relations and Special Projects for the Greater Hartford Convention & Visitors Bureau, Corporate Communications Administrator for The Travelers Companies, and Manager of Media Relations for Connecticut Gov. William O'Neill's Commission on Private & Public Responsibilities for Financing Long-Term Care for the Elderly (on loan from The Travelers). She also managed the 1989 Taste of Hartford, raising $50,000 for Foodshare of Greater Hartford.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), a member of the Board of Directors and Past President of the Channel 3 Kids Camp, and served as a Board Member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Connecticut chapter for many years. Ms. Soll is a founder of Citizens for a United Windsor (Conn.), which promotes racial, ethnic and religious understanding. She is a recipient of a Windsor Bridge-Builders Award and Channel 3 Kids Camp Outstanding Board Member honors.
